TxACE 2023 Symposium

Annual TxACE Symposium, October 16, 2023

The symposium will feature presentations by leaders in the analog electronics industry and key researchers from the analog electronics and related technical communities. The theme of this year’s symposium is energy efficiency.

Speakers include Pramod Khargonekar from the University of California, Irvine, who will discuss electric energy systems and global warming; Krishnan Kailas from IBM on sustainability and energy challenges of emerging AI workloads; Danielle Griffith from Texas Instruments Inc. who will discuss the reduction in circuit power requirements needed to sustain growth of the Internet of Things; and Ali Niknejad from the University of California, Berkeley, who will provide an overview of the Texas Analog Center of Excellence (TxACE) energy efficiency research thrust.

A panel discussion led by Mingoo Seok from Columbia University will examine whether the expanding energy consumption involved in running generative AI workloads will leave us enough power to keep our air conditioners on.
